Writer’s block

A poem.

Writer’s Block is so frequently with me, that I should start calling it family.

Many people around the world face this problem. I for one, have found out that doing another activity to distract myself, rest for a while, and coming back with a fresh head will help me to overcome this problem.

But again, everyone have their own ways of coming over this. If you are one of them who are struggling to (temporarily) overcome writer’s block, this poem might help you, I guess?

Anyways, keep experimenting on different ways and you might-

*sigh

I just had a brain fart.

Well, Let’s get started before I start buffering again.

Enjoy!

A cloudy day it was,

and having nothing to do,

I resumed the chapter that was long overdue.

I look out the window,

at the busy street,

busting my brain, tapping my feet.

Aha! An idea pops,

But as the writing gods would have it,

The idea didn't fit the plot.

Desperate, I am

without an idea,

without a clue,

and my brain now, the overthinker it is,

starts pondering on my ability to write at all.

I tell myself,

It’s time to give up,

This will just go with the rest of unfinished works of mine.

I push my chair back with anger,

going to do something else,

anything, anything at all,

anything except writing.

I feel so slow,

so low,

Like I could never do a thing completely.

I clear my head,

close both my eye,

and just let out a really huge sigh.

And just like that,

It popped,

the idea…

the idea that I’d been waiting for so long!

I started writing,

With a smile on my face,

and completed my novel,

Embracing my pace.
